SWANTEE SAPATSCH: A DIGITAL PORTFOLIO

Photography is not just a subject- its a way of life. It is so beautiful how shapes, colours and tones within an image come to life and represent meaning; photography is a personal way of expressing emotion, ideas and concepts. Welcome to this digital portfolio, which consists of my favourite projects taken during the last two years.

HOW TO VIEW THIS PORTFOLIO

My Story, My Art.

It is my pleasure to present my photographic work that I spent many hours creating and curating. Here are some images that are quite varied in style, such as conceptual art, landscapes, portraiture and macrophotography. However, to best view my work, I would recommend clicking on the images in order to see it in full size. I will also update this portfolio and include development ideas from my sketchbook. Please note that all images present are my work and ideas.

Thank you for this excellent opportunity to showcase my work.

ABOUT ME

The Full Story

Photography is not just a subject- its a way of life. It is so beautiful how shapes, colours and tones within an image come to life and represent meaning; photography is a personal way of expressing emotion, ideas and concepts. Although I have always loved videography from a young age, my infatuation for photography started relatively late, while studying for my GCSEs, but ever since I’ve been impassioned. And to me its purpose is as much in creativity as in commerce.

As a result of studying A level Photography, I have learnt many keys skills including composition and how to develop my own unique style, but I have also learnt importance of my own research and the exploration into the subject, which has really enticed me to be a part of the photography world.

I believe that the key to success in this subject is to experiment and audacious, as this is the only way to truly understand your identity as a photographer.

A major inspiration is my own upbringing, as I have had many set backs; but I use this to my advantage by incorporating social issues, which I believe are important to address, therefore my disposition in photography is an honest one- aiming to capture and narrate the truth, but creating surreal images is also something that I enjoy.

During my time studying A level photography, I have won two photographic school awards and I was offered the chance to exhibit my work in the year 13 art show while I was still in year 12.

Additionally, I am interested in digital retouching and mixed media, which is heavily based on photography knowledge. I was able to work alongside a digital retoucher for a day, in which I experienced what it would be like to be a part of the media world and since I knew that is definitely the career type in which I would like to endure.
